STARS 1.0

STARS 1.0, which launched on January 19, 2010, after a three-year development process, is the current version of STARS.  It is the first version of STARS in which participants can earn a rating.

STARS 1.0 Technical Manual

The STARS 1.0 Technical Manual Administrative Update One (pdf) is the go-to guide for the STARS credits. The document includes details about each STARS credit, including the credit criteria, a description of how points are earned, the reporting fields that participants complete to document that they earn the credit, guidance on measurement, relevant definitions, and examples. In addition, the document provides background on how the system was developed, how ratings are calculated, and more.

While no major changes were made to the STARS 1.0 credits, participants who have used an earlier version may wish to consult the January 2010 Record of Changes (pdf), which details the differences between the Early Release (9/2009) version and the 1.0 edition (1/2010) and the June 2010 Record of Changes (pdf), which details the differences between the 1.0 edition (1/2010) edition and the Administrative Update One edition (6/2010).
