Does the institution have a trayless dining program in which trays are removed from or not available in dining halls?:
A brief description of the trayless dining program:
A survey conducted in 2009 by students in a Seminar in Environmental Issues (ENVS-102) showed that by removing cafeteria trays reduced food waste per person by 32%.
Given the approximate 3,200 meals per day each semester, tray removal is projected to save approximately 27,000 lbs of food waste (13.5 tons) per semester. As a result of the research findings, trays were eliminated in the fall of 2009 in the Terrace Dining Room.
