Upon its re-opening in 2011, Antioch College has strived to reduce the impact of its campus operations on the environment by establishing sustainable policies, programs and practices that ensure it is conducting operations in an environmentally sound manner—consistent with Antioch's vision of providing a place where new and better ways of living are discovered as a result of meaningful engagement with the world through intentional linkages between classroom and experiential education. Goal Three in the College's Strategic Plan AC/2020 is to "Build a sustainable educational environment." Specific strategies include: 1) The campus master plan will emphasize economic and environmental sustainability, 2) Key campus buildings will be restored to support learning and institutional growth, 3) The Glen Helen Ecology Institute and the Antioch Farm will be purposefully integrated with curricular and co-curricular programs, 4) Faculty, staff, and students will model sustainable practices on campus, 5) A cost-effective model that maintains educational quality will be implemented. Further, the College's vision for the future - Antioch@175 - emphasizes our inextinguishable commitment to finding new and better ways of living and learning sustainably on our planet and to envisioning Antioch as an institutional/educational space dedicated to the practice of sustainability.

The Academic Affairs Assessment Plan addresses how the college will measure and assess seven Liberal Arts Learning Outcomes (LALO). LALOs include Social Enagement which is defined as "Demonstrated ability to engage as an active citizen in ethical and civil dialogue within a participatory, multicultural society concerned with the care of the planet’s environment and all that resides within it." As part of the Bachelor's Degree Program Assessment Plan specifically, the College sets a goal that 75% of students will have an overall average score of at least 4 (out of 5) in Social Engagement on signature
assignments in selected classes or activities (especially Work Portfolios and Community Life classes and activities).

Pillars of Sustainability asserts that "Antioch is committed to pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification on all major campus renovations." To-date all of our major campus renovation since reopening in 2011 have resulted in LEED certified buildings.

The Landscape Master Plan emphasizes native and local ecological systems and connects our campus to a broader ecology. The plan includes goals and objectives around bio-retention, carbon sequestration, aethistics, native plantings, removal of invasive species, interpretive signage, and recreational areas. It also outlines policies around the Integrated Pest Management program, tree planting, and planting zones.

+ Implement bio-retention/green infrastructure methods in areas where surface water runoff occurs
+ Ban the use of neonicotinoid pesticides on campus grounds
+ Install interpretive signage to explain landscape sustainability on campus
+ Increase native planting on campus

+ Reduce mowing to allow for clover growth and pollinator habitat
+ Eliminate mowing in selected areas to allow for reforestation

The College's Strategic Plan for Diversity outlines goals and objectives around Diversity and Inclusion. The goals of the plan are: 1) To build a community that intentionally and consistently supports diverse and inclusive practices; 2) To address campus issues related to harassment and fear of retaliation; 3) To respect and value our individual gifts and contributions to the whole; 4) Support curricular development and innovation that fosters social justice, cultural compentencies and understanding of diversity; 5) Proactive recruitment and retention of faculty and staff from historically marginalized and oppressed backgrounds; 6) Attract a diversity student body to Antioch College; 7) Strengthen retention of diverse students that is equal to or exceeds retention levels at GLCA colleges and universities. An institution can bolster the strength of its community by offering benefits, wages, and other assistance that serve to respectfully and ethically compensate workers and by acting to protect and positively affect the health, safety and wellbeing of the campus community.”
The Employee Success Plan outlines strategies and measurable objectives for improving Antioch College’s compensation package such as implementing a staff and faculty 401k group to advise on plan design and administration, aligning compensation practices such as pay adjustments and merit increases to make these more equitable across the College, and engaging with GLCA partners for total compensation comparison data.
The Employee Success Plan also outlines plans and strategies for ensuring the health and safety for employees such as implementing a campus-wide introduction and education to College programming and requirements around Title IX and analyzing and utilizing injury data with employees to lessen injury events (harm to employees).
