A brief description of the metering system:

The University's Energy Information System currently tracks the energy consumption in over 90 buildings on the Tempe campus. The data points tracked include electrical, chilled water and heating in order to accurately present the utility load of each building. Since the Tempe campus is mainly heated through the use of steam, the natural gas used is metered at each of the two Central Plant facilities where that data also feeds into the Energy Information System database.
