In February of 2014 the Hunger Solutions Institute of Auburn University, in collaboration with the Association of Public Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), held a high-level interactive forum to discuss the role universities can collectively play to end hunger. The gathering drew in 70 leaders from 30 universities throughout the Americas. The result was the Presidents’ Commitment to Food and Nutrition Security. This statement outlines activities university presidents can pursue to prioritize food and nutrition on their campuses, including research, teaching, outreach, and student engagement.

The Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) campaign is providing university presidents and students the resources they need to help commit their universities to a food-and-nutrition-secure world.
