The Texas Hunger Initiative, operated by the university, regularly advocates for issues relating to sustainable food systems and food insecurity at all levels of government.

The Director of Sustainability and Special Projects sits on several local boards and committees, specifically the City of Waco's Sustainable Resources Practices Advisory Board, which informs and advises the City of Waco on best practices.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The Director of Sustainability and Special Projects is an active member of the Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability which is a state-wide grouping of sustainability professionals that work towards a more sustainable future in higher education, local government, and nationwide.

The Director of Sustainability and Special Projects also represents the university on the Texas Product Stewardship Council whose purpose is to encourage commercial entities to better manage the life system for their products with state government setting the standards and ensuring the accountability of all commercial producers.

The Texas Hunger Initiative, operated by the university, regularly advocates for issues relating to sustainable food systems and food insecurity at all levels of government.

The Texas Hunger Initiative, operated by the university, regularly advocates for issues relating to sustainable food systems and food insecurity at all levels of government.

The Director of Sustainability and Special Projects is a former member of the AASHE Advisory Council and continues active participation in advocacy for sustainability at the national level through AASHE involvement.

The Director of Sustainability and Special Projects also regularly attends meetings and conferences in order to represent the university in national conversations.
