The Board of Trustees is the highest institutional governing body. Although not voting members, we do have an elected student, faculty, and staff member who attend the Board meeting—the SGA President, the Faculty Liaison to the Board of Trustees, and the Staff Liaison to the Board of Trustees.
In our shared campus governance structure, the highest body is the Executive Council, which does have representation by SGA President who is elected, as well as elected faculty and staff members.

A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which staff are engaged in governance, including information to support each affirmative response above:
Staff are elected and appointed to various governance committees including such groups as Strategic Planning Council, Sustainability Committee, General Faculty Assembly (the major voting body of the College), Staff Forum (all non-teaching members of the staff are members). The staff forum elects a staff member to sit at the highest governing body which is the Academic Council.

Continuing teaching faculty are elected and appointed to various governance committees including such groups as Strategic Planning Council, Sustainability Committee, College Faculty Assembly (the major voting body of the College).

A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which external stakeholders are engaged in institutional governance (including information about each stakeholder group selected above):
Local government: Berea College founded the town of Berea and continues to have a very large footprint in the city. College leadership works hand in glove with city officials on a wide variety of issues with infrastructure initiatives being the most collaborative.
Private sector organizations: Primarily realized thru our donor and board involvement.
NGO, NPOs: We have a 10% international population of students, and because of our limited economic means requirement, we rely on these organizations to help make some of the most vulnerable potential students aware of the opportunities at Berea College.
