Baseline Year Nov. 1, 2015 Oct. 31, 2016

A brief description of when and why the building energy consumption baseline was adopted (e.g. in sustainability plans and policies or in the context of other reporting obligations):
---

Gross floor area of building space:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Gross floor area of building space 61,487.50 Gross square meters 61,487.50 Gross square meters

Source-site ratio for grid-purchased electricity:

Documentation (e.g. spreadsheet or utility records) to support the performance year energy consumption figures reported above:
---

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to shift individual attitudes and practices in regard to energy efficiency (e.g. outreach and education efforts):
---

A brief description of energy use standards and controls employed by the institution (e.g. building temperature standards, occupancy and vacancy sensors):

Our lights are motion- sensored so that if the room is vacant, the lights will turn off. All of our student and public computers are automatically turned off at night (about 70% of the computers on campus).

A brief description of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting and other energy-efficient lighting strategies employed by the institution:

Our West campus uses 100% LED lighting, and we are in the process of transitioning all of our lights in South and North campuses to full LED lighting as our flourscent blubs burn out. In 2018, we will be installing 100% LED lights in our 3 storey Parkade.

A brief description of passive solar heating, geothermal systems, and related strategies employed by the institution:
---

A brief description of co-generation employed by the institution, e.g. combined heat and power (CHP):
---

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace energy-consuming appliances, equipment and systems with high efficiency alternatives (e.g. building re-commissioning or retrofit programs):

All of our appliances in food services areas are Energy Star certified. We recently installed EndoCube thermometers in our fridges to increase energy efficiency: http://www.endocubeuk.com/endocube_refrigeration.html

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Our South Campus uses district heating which is more efficient than natural gas. In this system, pipes bring warm water from ENMAX's District Energy Plant to heat the College. This helps us save the energy equivalent to taking 100 cars off the road each year for 25 years.
