Bow Valley College selects products that don't contain hazardous materials, wherever possible.
A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:
The college is currently undergoing a lighting retrofit from fluorescent tubes to LEDs as the fluorescent tubes burn out. The mercury in the fluorescent tubes is safely handled and given to Stericycle for final disposal.

A brief description of any inventory system employed by the institution to facilitate the reuse or redistribution of laboratory chemicals:
Laboratory chemicals are handled internally by the Practical Nursing and Health Care Aide programs. These programs share lab space and work together to conserve and facilitate the reuse of laboratory chemicals.

Computer towers, monitors, and accessories, along with laptop computers and cell phones, are collected by the Logistics team on campus and transferred to GEEP Canada Inc. for electronic recycling.
