In addition, Bryant's Chafee Center conducts various training programs and public forums around the state of Rhode Island to educate people on techniques on energy efficiency and the practical application of developing and utilizing alternative energy sources.

The NSF-EPSCoR student/faculty teams at Bryant University have presented results of their research efforts at EPSCoR conferences, including the SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships) conference at the end of the summer fellowships (2013, 2014, and 2015), usually in August. Profiles for two of the 2015 SURF researchers who worked with Professor Christopher Reid, Drew Phelan and Sarah Falco, are available at the URLs noted below. In addition, Christina Watts, working with Professor Dan McNally in 2015, completed a project looking at nutrient loading in the Blackstone River, located within a few miles of the Bryant campus.

Student researchers have also presented their work at regional conferences in New England (2016), and at national conferences, e.g., International Society of Protistologists (August 2013) and the International Congress of Microbiology (2015). Student researchers have also been co-authors in articles describing the results of their research in scientific journals (2014, 2015, 2016). Faculty have presented their work on oil pollution and on climate change studies in numerous scientific journals, and at national and international scientific conferences (2014 – 2016).

In addition, Bryant's Chafee Center of International Business conducts various training programs and public forums around the state of Rhode Island to educate people on techniques on energy efficiency and the practical application of developing and utilizing alternative energy sources, often including faculty from other Rhode Island academic institutions. The Annual Women’s Summit Program at Bryant reaches out to professional women from business, government, and academic institutions throughout the region, and in some years has sponsored specific sessions on Sustainability Practices. As part of an ongoing outreach for our M.S. in Global Environmental Studies (with its stated emphasis on Sustainability) has sponsored a sustainability lecture series (e.g., tracking pharmaceuticals through the water cycle in New England) at other academic institutions (e.g., Salve Regina and Providence College) Finally, student organizations on campus (SIFE, ENACTUS, Student Senate, Sustainability Ambassadors) regularly interact with like-minded organizations on other nearby campuses to participate in programs dedicated to sustainable practices (recycling, renewable energy, food waste management).

Bryant’s NSF-EPSCoR grant (2010-2015) for studying climate change effects on Narragansett Bay entails researchers from the University of Rhode Island, Brown University, Roger Williams University, Rhode Island College, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design, Salve Regina University, and the Community College of Rhode Island. By collaborating in this fashion, a more comprehensive view of the breadth of impacts can be envisioned. Bryant’s research team (Dan McNally, Julia Crowley-Parmentier, and Gaytha Langlois, along with several undergraduate researchers) was focused on the effects of chronic oil pollution along the Bay’s shores, including the rate of degradation of toxic compounds, along with assessment of the effects of ocean temperature rise and increased acidification. The grant program has been renewed for upcoming years and will focus on water quality throughout Narragansett Bay for the upcoming years.
