Bryant Zhuhai officially welcomed its first class of 160 Chinese students on September 29, 2015 with a convocation ceremony. Bryant has become the first American university to
• Establish a presence in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province;
• Establish a partnership with a private higher learning institution in China;
• Offer the only U.S. – China joint four-year undergraduate business degree program in China.

It is Bryant’s continuing mission to inspire students and help them to become innovative leaders with character and global perspective. That mission is now being mirrored in the curriculum taught at the new Bryant Zhuhai campus. The campus is located in conjunction with its partner, the Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai. After four years of study, the students that attend Bryant Zhuhai will earn an American undergraduate business degree, in an entirely English-speaking program. We are unaware of any other similar programs taking place in China or the U.S. at this time. The joint program maintains the rigorous academic standards of Bryant Smithfield’s campus and shares the goal of graduating young leaders. More than half of the 160 students plan to travel to Smithfield campus for summer programs.

Through programs like the Sophomore International Experience (China) and the Startalk Summer Program, the U.S. – China Institute at Bryant University contributes in helping to create sustainable global citizenship by creating and promoting opportunities for learning and cultural exchange inside and outside of the classroom. Providing sophomore students with a first-hand experience of China and introducing even younger students in the Startalk program to the global connectedness enables the U.S. – China Institute and Bryant University to strive towards it stated mission.

Through this new joint program with the Beijing Institute of Technology in Zhuhai and strong ongoing people to people exchanges, Bryant University continues to demonstrate and promote positive global relations and partnerships through education, business, and culture. This joint program will produce globally minded, forward thinking graduates that are prepared to enter the global job market and ready to solve the challenges of their time. Bryant University’s policy of expanding abroad, the practice of helping students, faculty, and staff to develop a global perspective, and this new Bryant Zhuhai program emphasize Bryant’s innovative leadership and dedication in to helping promote sustainable global citizenship.
