A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):

In the fall of the 2015-16 academic year, a survey was distributed to all faculty to gather information about their sustainability-related research, scholarly and creative activities (RSCA). The results of the survey were reviewed by the Sustainability Task Force's Research Support Working Group, which conducted follow-up outreach to participating faculty to verify the sustainability components of their RSCA works. In addition, the Working Group contacted the Deans of each college as well as many department Chairs to request information about faculty engaged in sustainability-related RSCA who may not have completed the survey. Lastly, faculty who submitted work for the annual Sustainability Project Showcase within the last 3 years were also included on in the inventory.
