CSULB offers use of lockers and shower facilities at the LifeFit Center (campus exercise and wellness facility) to employees who have a membership.
Does the institution provide short-term bicycle parking for all occupied buildings and makes long-term bicycle storage available for students who live on-site (if applicable)?:

CSULB provides 74 bike racks with a total of 1858 bike parking spots across campus at conveniently selected locations.

A brief description of the bicycle and pedestrian plan or policy:
The CSULB Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Study (2009), developed in partnership with Fehr & Peers, provided recommendations for improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities on-campus. The circulation plan map was updated in 2012 as part of the campus’ Landscape Master Plan. An RFP is going to bid to update the 2009 plan, with an anticipated update in 2017-2018.

In 2016, the City of Long Beach launched its bike share program. In consultation with the University, the City decided to place one of the first Long Beach Bike Share hubs adjacent to the campus in a high profile area near our iconic Walter Pyramid. The University has partnered with the city to help raise awareness about the program and is in discussions about the possibility of installing bike share hubs on the university grounds.

CSULB partners with Long Beach Transit to offer the TAP Card Program, which provides free rides on all Long Beach Transit buses to students, faculty, and staff. In addition, CSULB provides non-taxable reimbursements of up to $100 a month to employees using regional bus service (MTA or OCTA) to commute to and from the campus. CSULB also operates two off-campus shuttles, the Anaheim St. Shuttle and the Los Coyotes Shuttle, which are free of charge to students, faculty, and staff with a valid CSULB ID. CSULB also offers the Beachside Shuttle to resident students. On-campus shuttles are provided through the East Loop, West Loop, and All Campus Tripper shuttles, which operate every 15 minutes. Real time GPS tracking can be accessed via the CSULB Mobile App

Faculty and staff who participate in the Rideshare program are eligible to receive up to two free rides home each year as part of the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program.

CSULB partners with Zimride, which is a free ride-matching service provided by Enterprise. CSULB also partners with Enterprise Rideshare to provide vanpool services to the campus community. Employees who utilize vanpool have access to a designated parking space and other benefits.

There are four Zipcars parked on campus and three at the off-campus dorm. Zipcar provides short-term car rentals, and their hourly fee includes gas and insurance.

The campus currently has a total of four EV chargers: two on the ground level of Parking Structure 1, and two on the ground level of Parking Structure 2. Lot 14 is currently in construction for new solar EV chargers, with an estimated completion in fall 2017.

To incentivize sustainable commuting, CSULB Parking and Transportation Services offers employees $1 in Rideshare Rewards for each day they walk, bike, or carpool. Vanpool coordinators are also eligible for $1 a day in Rideshare Rewards. CSULB offers a quarterly Traffic Safety 101 class, which teaches bike safety along with hands-on practical training.
