Yes

A brief description of the institution’s supportive sustainability partnership(s) with the local community:

1) Engineering created an aquaponics tank which is now housed at the local nonprofit (El Arca - for the developmentally disabled) to teach the students there about sustainable gardening.
2) Engineering students also created wheelchair accessible garden beds for the El Arca residents.

This project began in summer 2015 and continues today.

Yes

A brief description of the institution's collaborative sustainability partnership(s):

Cal State LA students from nutrition science, kinesiology, music, TV/Film, biology and engineering, have teamed together to create a rooftop garden for the residents of the LA Women's Mission. Engineering students built the rooftop garden and are finishing a sprinkler system, biology students taught residents how to grow their own vegetables, nutrition science students are assisting with recipes and cooking techniques. TV/Film are documenting the process. Music students provide live performances to reduce stress. Public health students offer informational health fairs
This collaboration began in 2014 and continues today.
