Construction Management, contractors are contractually mandated to recycle their waste product, up to 75%. Recycled Content Certification: Contractor shall certify in writing the minimum, if not exact, percentage of postconsumer material, as defined in Public Contract Code Section 12200, in products, materials, goods, or supplies offered or sold to CSU regardless whether the product meets the requirements of Section 12209.

Property Management maintains a reuse program for large office items and furniture (usually with state tag) that are consistently picked up (1-3 times/month) across campus. These materials are either reused internally or sent to auction.

In 2015, a Green Your Move Out fundraising program collected 3,077 pounds of surplus clothing and shoes with the help of USAgain, a for-profit textile recycler. Additional move out waste is donated to the campus, and we dispose, repurpose, recycle, donate, and sale as we do with our primary campus efforts.
