Under a charge from President Harrison, the Campus Sustainability Committee is leading the effort to integrate sustainability into the curriculum and make it part of the educational experience. The committee is also responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the AASHE/STARS report AND the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment reporting.

A brief description of the sustainability coordinator’s position:

The campus does not have a position equivalent to a Sustainability Coordinator. Coordinated sustainability efforts are borne by the Committee members as needed and as related to the member's campus role.

For the purposes of completing STARS, an existing employee filled a four-month assignment (ending August 2011) as the University Sustainability (USA). The USA is responsible for:

Collection and input of data for AASHE/STARS reporting
Identifying and collecting STARS info for use in a Sustainability Survey
Creating and updating a web pages for the Campus Sustainability Committee
Committee Meeting coordination, including Agendas and Notes
Collects data, particularly air travel data, to input into an annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Baseline Study
Administrative support as needed for special events and projects (e.g., Focus the Region/Nation)
