Our Green Core Working Group members are appointed by our Director of The Institute for Sustainability and the Sustainability Program Manager.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):

The 10 Green Core Working Groups are not only charged with helping to implement the Campus Sustainability Plan, but also educate, engage and promote our initiatives through their own departments. The staff and faculty members that have been selected for each group are subject matter experts in their fields. There are faculty and staff members from nearly every department on campus from general campus operations staff members to the faculty that are directly engaged with research and education our students. By gathering these folks as well as students on a regular basis we share best practices, completed and ongoing initiatives as well as introduce new ideas to make CSUN a more sustainable university.

These 10 working groups are Administration, Dinning Services, Education, Energy and Buildings, Environmental Quality, Organics, Purchasing and Consumption, Transportation, Waste and Materials Management, and Water. All of these areas align with a single or multiple departments or divisions on the campus. The members involved with completing these projects or initiatives are generally funding the initiatives through their respective areas. Education and engagement initiatives generally are funded by The Institute for Sustainability or Facilities Planning.
