Green Revolving Fund

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :

The Calvin Energy Recovery Fund (CERF) is a Green Revolving Fund that improves energy efficiency and reduces carbon dioxide emissions on campus. The energy savings from CERF projects are routed back into the fund for five years after project payoff, thereby growing the fund to support future projects.


A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):

CERF has saved over 1,000,000 kW-hr of energy, over 800 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions, and over $100,000 since inception (2009).
