A brief description of the methodology used to track/inventory expenditures on animal products:


ARAMARK uses their purchasing tracking system to track all products and to distinguish sustainable products . Products within this system continue to be coded at a central head office level by Sustainability and Supply Chain personnel for key attributes, including, Province of Origin, Province of Processing and Sustainability Attributes including Faird Trade, OceanWise, Organic Certified etc. The focus for purchasing is on four key areas: locally grown, raised and produced foods; ecologically produced and humanely raised; sustainable seafood and socially responsible products.
The information provided has been verified by ARAMARK’s head office and sustainability personnel, and are accurate to the best of their knowledge. Michael Yarymowich (Yarymowich-michael@aramark.ca) was the contact for Camosun though Aramark’s Corporate Sustainability office. ARAMARK was ranked as one of Canada's greenest employers in 2014 (http://www.canadastop100.com/environmental/) and one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2015 (http://www.aramark-es.com/382/ ).

- dairy free / egg free breads
- fresh fruit and veggies
- most vegetarian entres can easily be made vegan at each food station (ie. the grill offers a veggie wrap that can be made using tortilla's made using no animal products)
- daily vegetarian soup options (sometimes vegan)
- salad bar with vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options
