CCCC’s Mission, Vision and Values Statement leads us to incorporate Sustainability into our curriculum, by including the following statement:

Sustainability - We are committed to achieving sustainability by implementing best practices in policies and operations and in the identification of priorities. We promote understanding and development of communities that are ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable.

Sustainability in the curriculum can be addressed in many different subject areas, including:

- The intersection of economics and the use of natural resources; with attention to the limits of natural resources

- Exploring solutions to socioeconomic challenges resulting from environmental pressures

- Defining public health problems as they relate to government policies, economic pressures and environmental degradation

- Asset mapping of community strengths in the cross section between the environment, economics and society.

In January 2011 the Sustainability Coordinator in collaboration with the Institutional Effectiveness department surveyed CCCC faculty to assess sustainability offerings on campus.
