The Renewable Technologies Huskins Program

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

This program is designed to offer Chatham County High School Junior and Senior students an opportunity to earn 9 semester credits in Sustainable Technologies. Students will combine course work with on campus renewable energy and green building demonstrations housed in the Sustainable Technologies Training Center. Course work covers the foundations of the renewable energy field and the framework for sustainability that cover social, economic, scientific and regulatory elements. Students will take classes in LEED certified classrooms and labs in the Sustainable Technologies Building, offering hands on experiences in renewable energy, biodiesel production, and green building.
