Hello Molly,

We received your request for information. Here is what we can provide from our office at this time.

1) Full-time equivalent Distance Learning Students

Our distance learning courses currently are courses that are 50% or more online. If you want just
100% online students, I’ve also included them here.

Fall 2015 distance learning FTE (all distance learning courses) – 3,457
Fall 2015 distance learning FTE (only 100% online) – 2,657

2) Number of academic departments (not just MSE, CHSS, etc, but actual sub-components such as "sociology", "geography", "math").

We don’t have how many academic departments there are currently. I can tell you that there
were 110 different course prefixes for courses in use which would represent 110 different
subjects. Would that suffice for your purposes? If not, I will have to contact Academic Affairs.

3) number of employees

This is the number of employees as of November 1, 2015. This is typically the date we report out all
Year long as well as to some other entities. I did not include termporary or casual employees in this
calculation. When we report out to CUPA and IPEDS (a federal report) they say not to include them
so to be consistent we generally leave them out of other calculations.

Full-time instructors – 358
Full-time Staff – 912
Part-time instructors – 726
Part-time Staff – 115
Total Employees – 2,111

4) number of full-time equivalent employees.

Banner doesn’t have employee information by FTE but using a general formula, here is what we
Can calculate one --

Formula: FT Instructors + 1/3 Part-time instructors + FT staff + ½ Part-time staff = Total FTE
358 + (912/3) + 726 + (115/2)
358 + 304 + 726 + 58 = 1,446

Let me know if this information wil work for you or if you need anything else or have any questions.

Thank you,
Dawn Kenney
