Personnel from Central Ohio Technical College's Office's of Academic Affairs and Institutional Research & Effectiveness developed a report containing a full listing of active courses for the 2012-13 academic year. The report contained course titles and descriptions, and keyword searches were performed to initially select courses that may be identified as sustainability related, focused, or neither.
Sustainability-focused courses matched at least one keyword and contained descriptions emphasizing topics directly related to sustainability.
Sustainability-related courses matched at least one keyword but only referenced topics in sustainability as a specific component of the overall course.
Courses not meeting either of the criteria were identified as non-sustainability courses.
