A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

Each year, the Offices of Student Life and Human Resources host a Cultural Diversity series for all college/campus personnel. A theme is identified and several different sessions are hosted throughout the academic year.

Professional Development Opportunities offered by the Newark campus office of human resources – Each year, the office of human resources coordinates professional development workshops for the campus. Several of the activities
center on cultural competence and training. Activities have included topics focused on women, multiple generations, sexual harassment, diversity, etc.

Staff Development Activities – The campus’s/college’s Staff Development Committee coordinates development activities for faculty and staff. Topics have included diversity programs and book readings related to cultural diversity.
