43

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

The data was drawn from a graduate student group research project at CSU in 2016 entitled "Improving Transportation Modalities on the Cleveland State University Campus."

With a student population of approximately 17,000, a survey of 276 students was conducted with a 90% confidence interval and a +/- 5% margin of error.

To conduct the survey, the students collected information in person from students all around campus using identical survey templates with information on mode of transport, zip code, travel days per week, and dollar amount spent on commuting per week.

The percentage of students that use each of the following modes as their primary means of transportation to get to and from campus::
Percentage (0-100)

Walk, bicycle, or use other non-motorized means 19
