Yes

A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years:

Incentives are available for faculty to create and/or modify existing courses into online distance learning courses. Online distance learning has greatly increased in the last several years at CCU and here is a report: http://www.coastal.edu/sacscoc/administrative/composer/1408134714_COOL%201.1.pdf

Online learning has evolved rapidly over the last decade as an educational genre capable of serving both residential and remote students, particularly those who face 21st century workplace expectations for continuous learning. These working students have created competitive global markets for online academic programs across a variety of academic disciplines.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

The Office of the Provost and the Office of Online Learning are pleased to announce the new COOL Incentive Grant program for the 2013/14 academic year to advance the development of high quality online curricula for undergraduate and graduate students. Deans and department chairs are invited to engage their faculty in strategic planning discussions about new online* curricula totaling at least 9 credits that are required in either 1) an official program, major, minor, certificate, or concentration of study, or 2) a group of three or more core curriculum courses within the college. Proposals are to be submitted by Deans and will include itemized compensation for faculty per the table below. Please note that upon implementation, additional compensation will be awarded to colleges using a shared revenue model generated from enrollments in online programs. All funds will be administered through the Office of the Provost. OPTION 1: $750 per credit stipend

OPTION 2: Faculty who develop or convert at least 6 credits of online courses may substitute one course release for the stipend.

$50-$150 per credit additional stipend
