The size of the campus grounds :
2,000 Acres

The size of campus grounds that are maintained in accordance with a four-tiered IPM plan :
250 Acres

A brief description of the IPM plan(s) :

CSU has an annual program for the control of Ips Bettle on Spruce trees, Mountain Pine Beetle on Ponderosa Pine and Lilac Ash Bore on Ash.

Every other year we use a systematic insecticide for select trees on campus. An IPM approach is not appropriate for these trees because Facilities is trying to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease which includes promoting plant health by suppressing scale and other insects.

Facilities rarely sprays shrubs and lawns with insecticides.
