A brief description of the event(s):

Concordia College holds annual events regarding the topic of sustainability, especially during Earth Week every April. During this past Earth Week 2013, Concordia held an event called Let's Cool It: Community Wisdom Meets Climate Change, which included presentations given by Concordia students and faculty, as well as other community members. This all-day event was very well attended, and included thirty 15-minute talks on a wide range of subjects, in which participants were encouraged to come and go as they were able.

Along with the leadership of the Student Environmental Alliance, other Earth Week events included a Sustainability Themed Meal (put on by Dining Services), an Earth Day Seedling Sale, and documentary film screenings.

Other sustainability events in the past couple years include the Religion 100 lecture by Stephanie Kaza, author of Mindfully Green, on the intersection of faith (with a Buddhist lens) and environmentalism; Peter Illyn of Restoring Eden; Thorlief Thorliefson and Will Steger, arctic explorers who spoke on the topic of climate change and others.
