Concordia founded and manages the Fargo Moorhead Sustainability Network that meets once a month to focus on varying sustainability groups and initiatives.

Concordia staff, faculty, and students have continually collaborated with an effort to increase sustainability, especially within the last year. One example includes a student working with Clay County Solid Waste to form a plastic bag community task force. The task force has grown to include Minnesota State University Moorhead and North Dakota State University, Minnkota Recycling, City of Fargo, City of Moorhead, and the major grocers in the area. The goal of the task force is to reduce the usage of plastic bags through educational campaigns.
