A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:

The Office of Sustainability conducts an annual sustainability survey for Dalhousie students. The survey is run through an Opinio survey platform. The survey includes a series of transportation related questions for understanding the travel behavior of the Dalhousie community. These transportation related questions provide data to identify the travel patterns of Dalhousie commuters.

Survey data is analyzed every year by DalTRac (transportation research group) and findings are profiled in an annual report.
