The program was also supported in part by ECU Facilities Services and the Joyner Library as well as Campus Recreation and Wellness.

The series will screen monthly documentary films ranging in topics from consumerism to waste, agriculture to water, and transportation to energy. Students were encouraged to attend these events and bring a friend to kick off this new series and stick around afterward for the post-film discussions.

All film screenings in the series qualify as a Wellness Premier events, which students enrolled in HLTH 1000 and some sections of COAD 1000 are required to attend. To qualify as Premier in the Wellness Passport Program, events must be larger-scale and feature a guest speaker, panel discussion, or multi-departmental collaborative sponsorship. In order to be considered for Wellness Passport approval, programs must:

• Address one of the dimensions of wellness (see below for descriptions of each);
• Be educational in nature;
• Be free for students;
• Be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the program event/date; AND
• Include an assessment plan (for premier programs/events only).

In order to assess a learning component, after each screening, the crowd in attendance will be asked a question via the Poll Everywhere app. For example, attendees may be asked the following:

“Do you intend to make any personal behavior changes as a result of what you learned by attending this program? If yes, what changes do you intend to make?”
