A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

For Fiscal Year 2016, we used the same estimated percentages that were reported in the Campus Carbon Calculator to determine GHG emissions associated with commuter travel. The total percentage was based on the assumption that, other than the 4,924 parking permits issued to faculty and staff, the remaining employees commuted using more sustainable commuting options such as walking, biking, carpooling, or taking the bus.
