A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

In the ECYou survey conducted by the Office of Equity and Diversity, employees were asked their level of agreement on a multitude of items related to their perceptions of the working environment, university communication, work/life balance, governance and leadership, and their engagement at the university. Each item is assessed on overall mean score and they are also assessed based on differences of mean scores based on some demographic characteristics (gender and race/ethnicity).


A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

ECU is currently attempting to gain better understanding of the issues raised with focus groups.
