The EICCD Strategic Plan 2011-2015 presents overarching district goals, district action projects to achieve these goals, and college/department based goals and projects designed to support the District's goals. The Plan is backed by an EICCD Operational Plan 2011-2015 that outlines the goals, projects, measures used to determine progress towards the accomplishment of the action projects, and administrative sponsors for each project.
The FY2011-2015 Strategic Plan for EICCD includes six broad Goals. Goal Four of the plan is to "Develop and Implement Green Practices". District Actions for this goal include:
4.1 Serve as a local, state and national leader for green practices
4.2 Significantly reduce energy usage throughout the District.
In addition, the EICCD Economic Devleopment Department has a goal to:
Work with business and industry in eastern Iowa to provide leadership in sustainability.

The EICCD Strategic Plan 2011-2015 presents 6 overarching district goals, as well as district action projects to achieve thse goals, and college/department based goals and projects designed to support the District's goals. The Plan is backed by an EICCD Operational Plan 2011-2015 that outlines the goals, projects and measures used to determine progress towards the accomplishment of the action projects, and also the administrative sponsors for each project.

While not specifically defined as one of the 6 overarching Strategic Plan goals, social sustainability is infused throughout the action steps and projects that make up the plan.

Identifying Future Needs, Preparing Tomorrow's Workforce, Promoting LIfelong Learning, Fostering Innovation, and Committing to Global Sustainability are all important aspects of Economic Sustainability, ensuring both a viable economic future for our local region, and for our individual students. EICCD is committed to infusing sustainability throughout our curriculum, and to beign a community leader, and to responding to workforce development needs in sustainability-related professions. Overarching Goal Four of the EICCD Strategic Plan includes an EICCD Economic Development Department Action Project to: "Work with business and industry in eastern Iowa to provide leadership in sustainability".
