A brief description of the assessment(s):
The EICCD has assessed diversity and equity on campus three times within the past five years.
A diversity survey was distributed from March 16 – April 10, 2006, to students at the Blong Technology Center, Career Assistance Center, Clinton Community College, Muscatine Community College, Scott Community College and Kahl Educational Center. Approximately 1,500 surveys were distributed directly to students” the survey was also available on the district website. There were 1,062 responses to this survey. The survey and results are provided as an attachment.
During 2008 and 2009, the EICCD conducted the Community College Survey of Student Engagement(CCSSE) - the community college equivalent to the National Survey of Student Engagement at four-year institutions. CCSSE provides information on student engagement, and asks questions that assess institutional practices and student behaviors that are correlated highly with student learning and student retention. Among these questions are several addressing diversity and equity. The 2009 survey and results can be found on the CCSSE website at http://www.ccsse.org/ EICCD will continue to conduct the CCSSE survey every two years.

Results of the CCSSE surveys are reviewed by senior administration and plans for policy, programs, and initiatives are developed accordingly.
