Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

EMU, Goshen College and Mennonite Central Committee (an international development organization) launched the Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions (CSCS) in September of 2016. This unique partnership brings together the research and knowledge capacity of faculty and staff and engaged student bodies of the two colleges, with a non-profit development organization's strong history of adaptation initiatives across the globe focused on agriculture, water, health, and education. The early focus has been around a 7000-participant research project on attitudes and behaviors in the Mennonite church of North America, using Global Warming's Six Americas screening tool developed by George Mason's Center for Climate Change Communication and the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. Future work of the center will include EMU and Goshen student internships with Mennonite Central Committee, which will bring students with expertise from a variety of fields of study including Environmental Sustainability, Peacebuilding and Development, Economics and Biology to an organization interested in expanding climate mitigation and climate policy work.
