During the 8 week RecycleMania competition, students, staff and faculty that pledge to recycle receive a newsletter for a 10 week period.

Staff Green Team members receive a quarterly newsletter about Green Team activities and events.

Sustainability events and activities are included in the weekly staff and faculty newsletter.

Sustainability is often featured in the student newspaper, the Berkeley Beacon. Recent articles have focused on waste audit results, Eco Reps, the Green Gala, Community Gardens, sustainable food, and waste management.

LEED features are highlighted throughout campus, including LEED certification signage, energy efficiency signage, and water efficiency signage. In addition, specific diversion streams, such as recycling, battery recycling, e-waste recycling, k-cup recycling, light bulb recycling and clothing donation signage is place around campus as well.

Brochures about Red's Best and plant based diets are available in the health center and in the dining center. The dining center features a large poster with upcoming sustainable food feature items.

Human Resources features a sustainable and budget-friendly commuting guide during their new employee orientation and has information on their webpage. The guide promotes biking, using public transit, and carpooling.

A brief description of the guide for green living and incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

The Green Room Certification Program is open to all on-campus residents and promotes incorporating sustainable dorm-life practices into student lives. The program is advertised at all student fairs and healthy living events. Students are awarded with a vegetarian Chipotle party when half or more of a floor is certified.

Additionally, the Resources tab on the Sustainability webpage provides off campus students with a Green Apartment Checklist. This checklist is advertised through the Office of Off Campus Student Affairs.

Recyclr is Emerson's answer to a swiping education game about what's recyclable and what's not recyclable on campus and in the surrounding areas. Recyclr has been featured at staff and faculty forums, at student orientation, and as part of RecycleMania. Recyclr was created by the Sustainability Coordinator and the Engagement Lab.
