Does the institution have a sustainability plan that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The Sustainability Vision was crafted by the Sustainability Advisory Committee, composed of faculty, students, and staff from a variety of schools and departments within the University. The Sustainability Vision was written by the Sustainability Advisory Committee chaired by Michael Mandl, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Peggy Barlett, Professor of Anthropology in Emory College. The following groups/individuals were consulted during the drafting process: President's Cabinet, Senate, Senate Committees on the Environment and Campus Development, Faculty Council, Woodruff Health Sciences Leadership Council, Employee council, Ecoseac (Student Environmental Action Coalition), Fraternity/Sorority Council, Residence Hall Association, Student Government Association, Oxford Strategic Planning Committee, Purchasing, Food Service, President Jimmy Carter, sustainability leaders of peer institutions and open meetings of Emory and Oxford faculty, staff, and students.

A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

The Sustainability Vision includes measurable short- and long-term goals for various subsets of sustainability, as well as recommended steps for achieving these goals. Some examples include reducing energy consumption by 25% by 2015, reducing the number of single-occupancy vehicles coming to campus by 25% by 2015, recycling or composting 65% of Emory's waste stream by 2015, and obtaining 75% local or sustainable food in Emory's hospital and campus cafeterias by 2015.

A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

Progress on the sustainability goals is measured primarily through the Office of Sustainability Initiatives and published on their website's "dashboard". Each of the measurable goals corresponds to a particular Sustainability Initiative or other university office. In addition to the work of these smaller units, the Office of Sustainability Initiatives regularly runs awareness campaigns to promote these sustainability goals. In 2008, the OSI launched the sustainability pledge, an online tool where students, staff, and faculty can make individual pledges about the sustainability related efforts they make.
