A brief summary of papers, guides, presentations, and other resources the institution has developed to share their sustainability experience with other institutions:

A number of professors and administrators, including Executive Vice President Michael J. Mandl, Professor Peggy Barlett, and Director of Sustainability Initiatives, Ciannat Howett, regularly give national presentations on issues related to sustainability. R. Wayne Alexander, M.D., Ph.D., Chair of the School of Medicine has presented to the Institute of Medicine on Emory's sustainability efforts in an attempt to address sustainability in a healthcare environment. Through the Piedmont Project, Emory sponsors a national workshop on teaching faculty how to implement sustainability into their classrooms.

The Office of Sustainability Initiatives regularly hosts tours for other universities to come see first-hand Emory's strides and accomplishments related to sustainability.


The names of local, state, regional, national, and other campus sustainability organizations or consortia in which the institution participates and/or is a member:

Emory collaborates with other local institutions through its participation in Sustainable Atlanta, Atlanta Local Food Initiative, and Georgia Organics. On the national level, Emory participates in both ACORE (American Council on Renewable Energy) and AASHE. Emory is active with metro-Atlanta's ARCHE (Atlanta Region Centers for Higher Education) to collaborate regarding sustainability.


A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :

Emory has hosted a number of sustainability conferences for other institutions and community members including Second Nature's "Nurturing a Green University" Workshop and recently the "Greening Health Care: Sustainable Practice in Atlanta".

In addition to institutional and faculty led cross-campus collaboration, Emory student organizations, particularly the Emory Environmental Alliance have collaborated through various venues with other local and regional schools.

Emory students have participated in the student-run Georgia Students for Sustainability (GSS).

Emory students have also collaborated with other Atlanta area schools, including Morehouse, Agnes Scott, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Spelman to form the Hotlanta coalition, which was later renamed Metro Atlanta Students for Sustainability (MASS). The group has also collaborated in regards to both Power Shift conferences, several Southeastern Renewable Energy conferences, the Dream Reborn Conference in Memphis, and worked together on two Georgia lobby days regarding energy, climate, and economic vitality in the state of Georgia.
