A brief description of the institution's indoor air quality plan, policy, and/or practices:

Fanshawe College’s Building Automation System has been set up to monitor for temperature, humidity and CO2 (in most of the buildings) as per ASHRAE Standard Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality 62-1999. The system monitors indoor air quality in most College buildings, on a consistent and ongoing basis. Alarms are sounded if/when any set limits go outside of the normal range expected in the standard, and are immediately responded to by maintenance staff to assess and remedy the issue. Should staff wish to report an indoor air quality concern, the work order system is available via Fanshawe's online staff portal, where they can place a work order to report the issue. Once a work order is received, maintenance staff will immediately respond to assess and remedy the issue. If an indoor air quality concern cannot be immediately mitigated by maintenance staff, Occupational Health and Safety Officers are called in to respond, at which point it becomes an emergency situation.
