Panther Power Down is held during fall and it challenges students to reduce their energy usage. We stage it as a dorm vs dorm competition and seek Resident Advisors support. RecycleMania is the nationwide competition to increase recycling.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):
The Panther Power Down has had promising results. In Fall 2011, the overall reduction in energy usage was 4.8%. In Fall 2012, the overall reduction in energy usage was 11%. RecycleMania has been a good tool for us to establish the recycling program on campus.
