Counselling and Wellnesss Services available for all students are coordinated through Student Services Department and services are available for all full-time employees (including Partial-load faculty). In a collaborative effort between HR & Student services, a cross-organizational Mental Health Strategy for both students and employees that speaks to education and prevention as part of overall wellness and engagement has been included in the 2016/17 Business Plan.

The Fleming College "Wellness at Fleming" initiative is intended as a holistic wellness framework for all employees (including casual/part-time status) that integrates programs and services for personal well-being with Fleming college's vision, mission and values. Through these initiatives, employees are encouraged to embrace and model personal lifestyle habits that reflect healthy eating, active living, and effective stress management. Examples of recent initiatives include:

Lunch and learn sessions /activities are offered at various times during the year in collaboration with our Fitness & Health Promotions program which gives employees the opportunity to learn from the knowledge of second year F&HP students. Sessions are also offered through our Employee Assistance Plan.

In 2015, Support Staff Healthy Living / Healthy Learning Conference was offered involving a full week of available sessions.

In 2015 College Leaders were provided with the opportunity to participate in a progressive training through the Leading a Mentally Healthy Workplace Certificate Program offered by Shepell and Bell Canada, in collaboration with Queen’s University.

In Spring 2016, Fleming launched the Healthy Living Award designed to enable all Fleming College employees to give recognition and appreciation to their co-workers for living and advocating a healthy lifestyle. The improved Healthy Living Award allows employees to develop a better understanding of how to live a healthy life by applying the dimensions of wellness (occupational, physical, social, intellectual and spiritual/emotional) to their everyday. An objective nomination process was designed to incorporate & measure the five dimensions of wellness for nominees.

The EAP has resources to assist eligible employees identify solutions to challenges at any age and stage of life including physical health, finance, legal, work / career, mental health, etc. All full-time employees and those partial-load faculty who have signed up for coverage are eligible to access this benefit.
