A brief description of the open access policy, including the date adopted and repository(ies) used:

In 2010, the Provost charged the Information Resources Committee (IRC) to create a five-year Strategic Plan for Technology that is annually updated. In the Strategic Plan for Technology 2012-2017, the IRC tasked the Library with creating an Institutional Repository/Digital Library that would allow open access to electronic theses and dissertations, scholarly publications and archive and special collection materials. Financial and human resources have and continue to be allocated to this project which is currently in progress. FGCU's conversion to electronic theses and dissertations was completed in Fall of 2013.
