Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

The FIU STARS Curriculum Working Group and Office of University Sustainability staff examined the course catalog to classify courses into three categories; sustainability related, sustainability focused, or neither.

Emails were sent to department chairs to indicate professors teaching courses designated as "sustainability focused." In order to be classified as focused the professor(s) who taught the course were contacted and a syllabus had to be obtained to confirm all three aspects of sustainability were included in the coursework. If the working group designated a course as focused, but the professor could not be contacted or a syllabus could not be obtained it was classified as a "sustainability related" course.

Course inventory was completed during the summer semester when some faculty leave to do research or take vacations. There may be focused courses missing from the data as a result of this unfortunate timing. Professors are able to self report courses throughout the year through this link: http://gogreen.fiu.edu/academics/index.html.
