FIU does not offer a discount for carpoolers, however there are incentives in place for carpoolers. By properly displaying a carpool decal on a vehicle, it allows the user to park in a premium, convenient carpool parking space. The FIU carpool program is a partnership with South Florida Commuter Service who hosts and tracks the ride-matching.
Anyone carpooling or using alternative transportation at least two days a week is also eligible for the Emergency Ride Home Program, which allows up to six free taxi rides home annually.
