A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:

The FIU Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report was conducted in 2008 as FIU's first significant step towards quantifying the campus' environmental impact through greenhouse gas emissions. The FIU President's Climate Commitment Task Force decided that fiscal year 2007 would be used as FIU's emissions baseline. Three emission reduction scenarios were explored that allowed for growth to be accounted and the log-term goal was established for a 20% reduction from 2007 levels by 2030.
