Yes

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services provides a wide breadth of exciting and culturally enriching activities and several workshop series for the FIU and South Florida community. Services are available throughout the year and have many different focuses including academic development, student involvement, orientation, social awareness, and leadership development. In addition, The Office of Global Learning Initiatives and the Center for Leadership & Service (Division of Student Affairs) are partners in a number of residential and commuter student programs aimed at promoting engaged global citizenship while developing students' leadership competencies. The Global Living Learning Community is one such program providing a unique living/learning experience to educate leaders for global engagement. The goal of this program is to help residents become citizens of the world by bringing the world into the community through intercultural awareness, leadership development, experiential learning, and an introduction to a variety of campus, community, and global resources. Global Community residents participate in numerous activities to explore current world events and international perspectives as they prepare for leadership roles as active global citizens.
