A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:

The literacy assessment was developed by looking at sample assessments from other universities to gather question ideas. The Office of University Sustainability team went through all potential questions, edited them as needed, and then sent test questions to interns to get feedback. The questions went through this cycle a few times until finalizing on the current version. It was decided that this version would be sent out as a pilot and get feedback.

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :

The assessment was sent via an online survey tool to students, faculty, and staff in the FIU School of Environment, Arts, and Society. It was only sent out and opened for a brief period to get feedback so that the assessment can be amended to be sent out to larger campus populations in the coming academic year.
