Saving large oak trees by moving them

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

The landscape of Florida State University has been recognized for its abundance of large, mature Live Oak trees, some of which are hundreds of years old and are a part of the history of FSU. Instead of cutting down these trees when construction projects are sited, efforts are made to relocate and incorporate them into the new landscape design.

- Prevents the loss of trees due to construction projects
- Preserves mature trees that provide shade and aesthetic value to campus grounds
