Department websites were visited and discussions with faculty members confirmed that research is current. Faculty were also identified based on their publications, research posters displayed on campus and participation in the FSU Undergraduate Research Symposium that is help annually in May.

Graduate students and advisors regularly present research nationally and internationally. Student and faculty work has had direct impact on sustainable management practices, including in the urban forest of Washington DC.
